HUMOUR
Describe something that
happened in the book that is
funny.
Look at the pictures and think
about what people do and say
IMPORTANT PASSAGES
Choose three passages that are
important for the plot, or that
explain the characters, or that have
very interesting language. Copy the
passages and give reasons for
choosing them.
Is it something that makes new
things happen in the plot? Or does
it change a relationship between
two of the characters?
•Look for both
differences and
similarities between your own
culture and the culture found in
the story.
•Make notes about
two or three
passages that show these cultural
points.
•Theme: What is the theme of this
story (for example, getting
married, meeting a ghost,
murder, unhappy children…)? Is
this an important theme in your
own culture? Do people think
about this theme in the same
way or differently?
•People: Do characters in this
story
say or do things that people never
say or do in your culture?
STYLE
Write down two sections
of the story that you like.
Do not choose very long sections.
(e.g Find a piece of dialogue –
where people are talking. And
find a piece of description )
